Imagine the Beatles Migration Project Overview

I had the pleasure of working with Imagine the Beatles, a renowned tribute band performing across the UK, to help them regain control of their online presence. Their original website, while nostalgic and familiar, had become inaccessible—leaving outdated gig information live and no way to update it. With no login credentials, backend access, or source files, I was brought in to reverse-engineer the site and breathe new life into it. The goal wasn’t to redesign from scratch, but to preserve the aesthetic they loved while making the site functional and future-proof. The result was a restored, fully editable website that allows the band to update their gig listings with ease—ensuring fans always have the right information.

I found Joe very helpful and clearly knows his stuff. He's been absolutely charming right from the start and very good at what he does. I would thoroughly recommend.

Strategy & Outcomes for HTML Imagine The Beatles Static Netlify Migration Project

Strategy & Implementation

Imagine the Beatles, a popular tribute band performing across the UK, approached me with a challenge: they had lost access to their original website builder and were unable to make updates to their existing site. The most urgent issue was their outdated 'Gigs' page, which still displayed old performance dates, creating confusion for prospective fans and venues.

The original website was built many years ago, and while the band liked the general look and feel, they had no access to any of the original assets, CMS, or even the site files. My task was to recover the site, rebuild it, and enable them to easily update content going forward—without disrupting the aesthetic they were attached to.

To make that happen, I:

  • Reverse-engineered the original site, extracting HTML and assets directly from the live site

  • Reconstructed the website structure manually, ensuring it retained the look and layout the band loved

  • Rewrote the 'Gigs' page with clean, modern HTML to make it easily editable going forward

  • Set the site up on a reliable and user-friendly platform, Netlify, so the client could make small updates independently

Key Outcomes

  • Successfully restored and relaunched the website with a near-identical design

  • Enabled the band to accurately update their gig listings, preventing confusion and ensuring fans had the right info

  • Delivered a low-maintenance solution tailored to the client's unique needs without requiring a full redesign

Lasting Value

This project wasn’t about reinventing the wheel—it was about preserving a legacy site and putting control back in the client’s hands. By bridging the gap between nostalgia and modern web standards, I helped Imagine the Beatles maintain their brand identity while ensuring their fans could stay up to date with live performance dates. It was a technical restoration with a practical impact, bringing a beloved website back to life.
