Overview of Shopify Website Design Project for a Small Pet Product Business

I partnered with Thirsty Dawgs, an ambitious ecommerce start-up focused on portable pet drinking bottles, to bring their brand and online store to life from the ground up. With no existing assets or infrastructure, I led the full creative and technical process—from designing a playful yet professional brand identity to launching a conversion-optimised ecommerce site. The result was a fully functional online shop, complete with payment processing, customer review integrations, and sales-boosting plugins. This project was all about transforming a product idea into a compelling digital storefront, ready to attract and convert pet lovers from day one.

Strategy & Scope for E-commerce Site Build and Asset Design

Strategy & Implementation

Thirsty Dawgs, an ecommerce brand selling portable drinking bottles for pets, approached me to help launch their business from the ground up. The goal was to create a fun, engaging, and conversion-optimised online store that would appeal to pet lovers and make it easy for customers to buy their product.

With no existing assets, I led the full creative direction of the brand, starting with:

  • Custom logo design and brand identity, including colour palette, typography, and visual style

  • Full ecommerce site build, ensuring seamless mobile responsiveness and fast load times

  • End-to-end Shopify setup (or relevant e-commerce platform), including payment gateway integration and shipping settings

  • Implementation of conversion-boosting plugins, such as:

    • Urgency and scarcity tools (e.g., low stock warnings, countdown timers)

    • Abandoned cart recovery emails

    • Review integrations for social proof

    • Sticky add-to-cart buttons for better mobile UX

Key Outcomes
